Maverick was found wandering out in the RM of Meadow Lake late July but was never claimed by an owner. He's a tall, lanky, long legged fellow who's friendly and gets along with other big dogs. He doesn't appear to be overly excitable and is happy to watch the other dogs chasing each other in the runs rather than chasing along after them all. He's a young adult - likely 1-2 years old. Maverick took part in a photo shoot for shelter animals and kids on Aug 18/11 - thanks to Swoon Photographer - Janna for the professional photo of Maverick and friend. It seems Maverick likes to chase cats; we don't think he wants to harm them but constantly chases and plays which can be stressful for the cat, so we recommend he go to a home where there are no felines. He's gone to a couple of 4H obedience classes this fall and will continue with this until he's adopted. He's good on an acreage, and doesn't run off though he does like to chase deer, but always returns. Good with kids and larger dogs.
